One does not simply walk into Mordor judge a whole film by a 10 minute clip!!
At least that's what Peter Jackson wants us to believe about his precious prequel — and we hope that he's right!
Remember reading how The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey received several unfavorable reviews at the CinemaCon sneak peek?
Peter INSISTS we've got it all wrong!!
Hobbit will again star Cate Blanchett, Orlando Bloom, and Elijah Wood, but no one has as problem with the casting.
The fanboy grumblings thus far are actually technical in nature.
Some are upset by a conversion to 3-D. Others complain the film doesn't look "cinematic" enough — as Hobbit was the first in the series to be shot at the unusually high rate of 48 frames per second.
Peter suggests that's how brand new experiences work. He said:
"At first it's unusual because you've never seen a movie like this before. It's literally a new experience, but you know, that doesn't last the entire experience of the film—not by any stretch, [just] 10 minutes or so."
Okay. We understand some pairings are unusual at first.
One example is Johnny Depp and Marilyn Manson covering Carly Simon. Yeah, that's still pretty weird…
But what if some Middle-Earthlings never get on board with the new format? Are they just out of luck?
Peter admitted he wouldn't know what to tell them:
"I can't say anything. Just like I can't say anything to someone who doesn't like fish. You can't explain why fish tastes great and why they should enjoy it."
Uhh, fish?? Are you talking about Vanessa Hudgens kissing Zac Efron??
In any event, Peter hopes audiences wait until experiencing the "complete narrative" before casting any spells stones.
That sounds pretty fair.
We'll wait until the film comes out to decide once and for all.
You have our word. And our axe!!
