Scott Weiland, the forty-year-old front man for Stone Temple Pilots, was sentenced to eight days in jail after pleading no contest to a DUI charge in a LA Superior Court.

Weiland, who has recently left the Gun's and Roses compilation band Velvet Revolver and is famed for his problems with drugs and alcohol, was originally arrested on a free-way off ramp Nov 21st.

In addition to the jail time, he has been given four years probation and is required to enroll in a year-and-a-half long substance abuse program.

Stone Temple Pilots is scheduled to go on a lengthily reunion tour beginning May 17th, and Weiland must serve his sentence by May 28th.
