Nancy Grace sure has had an interesting life. And now Jennie Garth is playing her alter ego in a Lifetime movie based on the legal analyst's 2009 best-selling novel, The Eleventh Victim. Garth will play Hailey Dean, a young assistant D.A. who prosecutes a case against her fiance's killer. And then -- oh no! -- he targets her when he gets out of jail. Sounds very dramatic and Lifetime-esque, doesn't it?
Though the story is fictional, Grace's novel incorporates elements of her own life before she became the bombastic host of HLN's Nancy Grace (and later a wardrobe malfunction victim on Dancing with the Stars, season 13). Like her character in the story, Grace spent several years working as a prosecutor in the Georgia D.A.'s office, and she too lost her fiance when he was murdered in 1979.
Grace will act as executive producer on the TV movie. Between her news and current affairs show, several other professional projects and four-year-old twins, Grace appears to be one of those women who doesn't sleep!
So is Garth right for the role? Well, like Grace, she is also a DWTS alum. And she has blond hair. And, uh, her last name also starts with a G! But that's where the similarities to Grace seem to end. The former 90210 actress just launched the CMT reality show, Jennie Garth: A Little Bit Country (Fridays at 9 p.m. ET), which chronicles her move with her children to a seven-acre working farm. Her goal: Slow down and enjoy life.
Grace couldn't be further from a farm girl in search of a simpler life! But Garth is trained for this sort of thing, right? Hey folks, that's why they call it acting!
