"American Idol" winner Phillip Phillips To Undergo Surgery ~ Mind ... May 25th 2012, 01:16 "American Idol" season 11 winner Phillip Phillips will now be getting his much needed break... Not just talking about his music career but the health procedure he urgently must undergo. According to TMZ, Phillips will be getting a  kidney surgery  in L.A. in the next 7-10 days. Phillip Phillips took the risk of finishing the 'Idol' competition despite the doctors orders of him  to get surgery immediately.
